My father-in-law passed away quite suddenly but apart from the grief hitting us all like a sledge hammer hubbie is now spending more time in England than in Scotland with the gang.
He needs to be there to sort out his father's affairs, probate and clearing the house ready for sale but our home feels somehow incomplete at the moment.
Kali is now in her 10th year, and not in the best of health so she has gone with him. She has always been a daddy's-girl and is loving all the 1-2-1 time she is getting with him. We are not too sure how much time we have left with her but we always knew that she would have issues as the years went by but for now, although her hips are not too good and she has kidney problems she is a happy little soul which is all that matters.
As to the others, Berezi is 7yrs, Miz-mouse is 5 already with Kashi is now 4 (which is a worry because we lost his sister at 5 to fits although luckily he doesn't seem to be going down the same route) and the baby of the dogs, Ali will be 3 in October.
The cats ... Pharos, the old man of the group has found his own retirement home(s) and only now visits occasionally, and the other two are still babies ... Finn is 4 and Harvey 3.
None of us though are getting any younger (a death in a family can really seems to bring that home sometimes).
