Phase 2 began once the R number was constantly below one allowing larger groups of families and friends to meet out of doors whilst maintaining physical distancing and families to meet indoors. Pubs and restaurants opened that had outside spaces, markets and play areas.
Phase 3 saw a plan to return children to school as from August either under a blended module or on a part-time basis and shops were to reopen. Facemasks to be worn when out.
Phase 4 will begin once the virus remains suppressed to very low levels and is no longer considered a significant threat to public health.
Phase 3 was eventually brought in, but again the numbers rose, and local lockdowns were imposed. By September there was talk of a second wave that was on the way to sweep across the country and although the last straw would be another total lockdown. Stricter measures have been applied.
We were never ones for going too far afield and once provisions were sourced for delivery, we had little need to venture into the scary wide world. As, it helps having the beach right on our doorstep. Walks have not been affected and the humans of the gang are spoiled with stunning views. There have been a couple of new additions though.
